What is the best strategy to win a match 3 game? We have a few tips and tricks for you. It's always a good idea to try a few different strategies if you can't beat a level. So here they are.

Focus area

At the beginning of every level, you should take a look, which part of the board contains most obstacles and then you should focus on that part. Also, if you lost the level, see what jewels were left on the game board last. Try to destroy them first in the next game.

Take a look at the following image. The best strategy is to start playing near the walls at the bottom in order to get rid of them.

Start from top or bottom

When you see a lot of combinations on the board, which you can play, it is good to start playing from the top. This way you won't destroy any combinations in the bottom and you will be able to use the maximum amount of gems.

If there are not many combinations on the board, then play from the bottom. This will cause the gems from the top to fall down and they may form new opportunities on the board.

Combo bonuses

Matching up jewels in a fast succession will bring you a bonus in most of the games. you can try to take a look at the board first and then do as many matches at once as possible. It is good to make the matches from the top to the bottom, so that you don't destroy the available moves below.

Matches of 4 or 5

Always keep an eye on the board, so that you don't miss any combination of more than 3 candies. Matching 4 or 5 candies will give you power-ups, which will get handy later. So don't to miss them.

Keep your power-ups

If you received a power up, like a bomb or a flash, don't use them right away. Try to find a spot on the board, where they have the largest impact and try to blow them up in that spot.

Suggested moves

When you don't do any move for a while, most of the games recommend you a possible move. Don't wait for this recommendation. It is usually just one of the possible moves and definitely not the best one. The suggested move is there just to help you, if you are really stuck and you don't see any move.
